DARYL ROSS HALENCAK is a poet, writer, and activist. His poetry and articles were published in Elegant Rage, Speak Your Mind-poems of protest and resistance, Elegant Rage, A Celebration of Poetry: 90 Poems for 90 Years, Ain’t Gonna Be Treated This Way, Dagon poet Review, NonDoc, Cesky Dialog, Ceske Stopy, and others. He took a short sabbatical in Prague, Czech Republic while working on a Czech-Texas magazine. Mr. Halencak read his works in San Francisco, Albuquerque, Seminole Oklahoma State College, Woody Guthrie Poets, Oklahoma City University, Wichita Falls Poetry Society, Foard County Poetry Festival, and other venues.

He lectured in an advanced composition class at Oklahoma City University. Daryl attended Iowa Workshop and Red Earth MFA Creative Writing Program. Daryl Ross Halencak was living a full life as an attorney, an elected official, a man active in community charities, and running the family farm in rural Texas until about-face: diagnoses of cancer, stroke, and MS interrupted his life. His survivor instinct propelled him in a new direction. A native of Crowell in the Rolling Plains, he is a fifth-generation resident of that special landscape, Foard County, Texas. He is on a spiritual adventure, making the most of every day in his world, a world he loves. Daryl and his wife, Jane, reside in the rugged and untamed lands of cows, cacti, and dirt- Free State of Foard County.
